Is there any difference between Sheetrock and drywall? If this question is asked to any civil engineer or a builder, the answer got will be that there is no difference between the two. 1. Why not just say Sheetrock is to Drywall like Kleenex is to tissue.

Your explanation is WAY to compleated for something so simple…

  2. True, old sheetrock was called sheetrock because it is made of concrete (rock), not plaster or gypsum. If your walls have real sheetrock (like the old house I am now living in), not the brandname, you’ll know it. Just try hanging up a picture. You have to use a drill with a concrete bit to first make a hole in the wall before you can put in a nail or anchor. Try just a nail, you will either bend the nail or make a chipped up hole from the broken concrete as you attempt to hammer. You will probably just end up buying the adhesive stick strips that are now made for hanging pictures.

    • I LIKE YOUR REPLY SIR, AND YES I KNOW VERY WELL ABOUT SHEETROCK, OUR WALLS ARE MADE OF SHEETROCK
HOUSE WAS BUILT IN 1948–AND YES WALLS ARE SHEET ROCK
      MOSTLY DOWNSTAIRS–NOT SO MUCH UPSTAIRS
MOSTLY DRYWALL UPSTAIRS–I THINK IT IS..

I believe it would be just too simple to say that Sheetrock is to Drywall like Kleenex is to tissue. I personally found the information useful. May be because I belong to construction sector, but don’t really think it’s complicated in any manner.

  4. Sheetrock is crap
