Ubiquinol vs Ubiquinone
Most men have encountered the terms ubiquinol and ubiquinone in their diet regiment. It is important, however, to know the key differences of the two substances, as both are present in bodybuilding supplements. The substances are mainly derived from CoenzymeQ10, or shortly, CoQ10. This enzyme is most commonly found in sardines and mackerel.
Learning more about Ubiquinol and Ubiquinone
The nutrient was discovered by Fred Crane in 1957. The nutrient has been tested to have deep and greatly altering effects on our levels of stamina, organ health and energy. The CoQ10 nutrient is said to increase the effectiveness of the immune system and more. Other sources for the prized nutrient are in beef and peanuts. The nutrient acts as a strong antioxidant which frees the mitochondria from free radicals. Without this, people can suffer cell death. Healthy cells are therefore created largely with the aid of CoQ10.
Ubiquinol and ubiquinone are derived from CoQ10. The main differences of each include the popularity of ubiquinone versus that of the former. Ubiquinone is more commonly sold commercially than the other derivative. Another difference is that of its oxidation; ubiquinone is a deliberately oxidized form of the enzyme. When it is taken orally, the body then metabolizes ubiquinone to form ubiquinol.
Knowing this, we can see that ubiquinol is now the strong and potent antioxidant of CoQ10. Ubiquinone is also cheaper compared to ubiquinol since the former is easily accessible compared to the former. One problem faced by people with regard to the intake of ubiquinone and ubiquinol is the aging process.
The Other Differences of Ubiquinol and Ubiquinone
In most people, metabolism slows down as a person ages. This in turn complicates the breaking down of ubiquinone, hindering the creation of strong antioxidants—that is, ubqiuinol. Therefore, older people are advised to orally take ubiquinol supplements to help in the aid of the immune system. This key difference in aging people is further buttressed by the fact that many supplements containing high amounts of ubiquinol have been released in the market.
There are, however, claims of researchers that in order to achieve the greatest benefit of CoQ10 nutrient, one must combine the use of such substances such as ubiquinone and ubiquinol. Whereas the former can be found in sardines and mackerel, the latter can be commercially bought at a trusted pharmacy.
People who have an active and healthy lifestyle are highly advised to use ubiquinone, as the rate of metabolism in such individuals is relatively faster. Meanwhile, those who are have reached their 40s, have conditions that compromise various organs are advised to take ubiquinol supplements instead.
These key differences of the two forms of CoQ10 are not starkly contrast. In fact, ubiquinone nad ubiquinol work in tandem to provide a boost in human cells. To achieve an increase in stamina and energy, people are therefore advised to consume food reach in this nutrient. Supplementing this food consumption with ubiquinol pills can boost the benefits of the nutrient at an unprecedented level. Of course, those who are interested in such must consult a trusted physician before purchasing manmade supplements.

Both ubiquinone and ubiquinol are NOT enzymes. They are coenzymes, which are required for proper action of a number of enzymes.
