Distilled Water vs Boiled Water
Distilled water and boiled water are two products of two completely different water processes. Both boiled water and distilled water are involved with the liquid and gas states of water.
Distilled water is produced after a series of complicated steps and procedures. The process involves boiling the water until all the water turns into steam. The steam is then condensed and transported into another container where it regains its liquid form from its gaseous state. Distilled water is also considered pure and safe to drink. The downside to this kind of water is that it has a bland taste with no nutritional benefits since the process eradicates all substances in the water. Aside from drinking, distilled water is also used for research and experiments.
As pure water, distilled water has no impurities, microorganisms, contaminants, or a shred of nutrients in it. The distillation process eliminated all elements in the water. This includes minerals, bacteria, germs, viruses, heavy metals, salts, and other things. The list of nutrients which the distilled water lacks includes small amounts of nutrients like calcium, sodium, potassium, and fluorine. Distilled water is usually used for drinking consumption and research purposes like experiments. Distillation commonly occurs in laboratories where there is specialized equipment for the purpose. The actual process might take a couple of hours since there are numerous steps, and the water needs to be condensed back to its liquid form.
On the other hand, boiled water is water boiled for 15 minutes and reaching the temperature of 100 degrees Celsius or 212 degrees Fahrenheit. Boiling the water is the first step of the distillation process. Boiling water is only a quick step process to purify water. It kills all the microorganisms like bacteria, viruses, and germs, but it leaves the impurities and the nutrients behind. This type of water is usually used for emergency water sanitation or as a method of sanitizing water in rural areas or in flooded situations. The main goal is to have the water good enough for drinking and cleaning purposes.
Compared to the distillation method, the process of boiling the water only takes a short duration. The boiled water also has a “taste” since the minerals aren’t removed from the water itself. Other than drinking purposes, boiling water is also used as a preparation and main method of cooking in many recipes. Boiling water is usually done in water-based dishes that require stock or other liquids as a base.

5.Boiled water is also the first requirement in achieving distilled water. It is also easier and faster to prepare compared to the latter.
6.Boiled water only requires a fire and a boiling container while distilled water asks for an assortment of equipment that includes containers for the water and glass equipment. The glass equipment collects and transports the evaporated water from one container to another. Of course, the burner is a requirement in the process.
