Difference Between Samsung Galaxy S II and Google Nexus S
Samsung Galaxy S II vs Google Nexus S
The Samsung Galaxy S II and the Google Nexus S are actually made by the same company, Samsung, but are marketed under different brand names as the Nexus S is obviously under the Google banner. The most obvious difference between the two is the lack of Samsung branding in the Nexus S. The Nexus S runs vanilla Android while the Galaxy S II has some Samsung software; i.e. the TouchWiz UI.
The Galaxy S II, being the more recent of the two, has better specs than the Nexus S. It has a bigger 4.3-inch screen than the Nexus S’ 4-inch screen; although both phones use the same technology from Samsung. The Galaxy S II also wins out in terms of physical dimensions as it is quite thinner and lighter than the Nexus S. A slight increase in height and width is inevitable considering the bigger screen, but Samsung still manages to keep the increase to a minimum.
The Galaxy S II simply has more horsepower than the Nexus S. It has a dual core processor and double the memory of the Nexus S. Although the added power of the Galaxy S II is not always needed, it is very handy when running multiple apps at once or in CPU intensive applications like video recording.
The cameras of the Galaxy S II are also far superior to the ones you would find on the Nexus S. The former has an 8 megapixel main camera and a 2 megapixel secondary camera while the latter only has 5 megapixels and 0.3 megapixels respectively. As stated before, the processing power of the dual core processor can be taken advantage of in video recording. The Nexus S is limited to WVGA video resolution at 30 fps. On the other hand, the Galaxy S II is capable of recording HD-quality video. Users can even choose whether to shoot at 720p or at a full 1080p resolution.
Summary:
1.The Galaxy S II has a bigger screen than the Nexus S.
2.The Galaxy S II is lighter and thinner than the Nexus S.
3.The Galaxy S II has a dual core processor while the Nexus S does not.
4.The Galaxy S II has a higher resolution sensor than the Nexus S.
5.The Galaxy S II can record HD-quality video while the Nexus S cannot.
