Difference Between Nokia E7 and Nokia N8
Nokia E7 vs Nokia N8
The E7 and N8 from Nokia are among the last and only phones to offer the latest Symbian operating system. Nokia has decided to dump it in favor of the new Windows Phone 7 operating system from Microsoft as the mainstream OS for their future smartphones. The main difference between the E7 and the N8 is the presence of a full QWERTY keyboard in the former. Although both phones rely on a touch screen interface for most interactions, you can use the QWERTY keyboard of the E7 for times when you need to type long emails or when you want to chat with someone.
The downside to having a slider rather than a more typical candybar is the added size and weight. The E7 is slightly less pocketable than the N8. But in return, you also get a bigger 4 inch screen compared to the 3.5 inch screen on the N8. All other aspects of the screens are identical, including the 360×640 resolution.
Both phones have the same amount of internal memory for storage. The downside to the E7 is its lack of a microSD slot for memory expansion. You are basically stuck with its 16GB, although that’s more than enough for most users.
Lastly, the N8 and E7 are very different when it comes to the camera; the E7 doesn’t even come close. First, the N8 has a 12 megapixel sensor to the E7’s 8 megapixels. The N8 sensor is also bigger, allowing it to capture more information and less noise. Then the N8 has dedicated optics with autofocus while the E7 has a fixed focus. The N8 also uses a brighter Xenon flash compared to the dual LEDs used in the E7. More light is needed when you are shooting in the dark and the subject is not that close to the camera.
Overall, the N8 and E7 are pretty good smartphones. The E7 is aimed towards business types with emphasis on messaging while the N8 is an all-around smartphone with an awesome camera to boot. The major drawback for both phones is the impending demise of the Symbian platform. Software developers are already jumping over to other operating systems like Android and iOS.
Summary:
1.The E7 has a QWERTY keyboard while the N8 doesn’t
2.The E7 is bigger and heavier than the N8
3.The E7 has a bigger screen than the N8
4.The N8 has a microSD card slot while the E7 doesn’t
5.The N8 has a much better camera than the E7
