Difference Between Samsung Moment and HTC Evo
Samsung Moment vs HTC Evo
Although CDMA is quite behind compared to GSM in terms of coverage, it is still widely used in North America. The Samsung Moment and HTC Evo are two CDMA offerings and these phones would not work with GSM networks no matter what you do. The most noticeable difference between these two is the size of their screens. The Moment has a 3.2 inch screen while the Evo has a whopping 4.3 inch screen. HTC wants to emphasize the multimedia capabilities of the Evo and it is also equipped with an HDMI port so that you can show videos on your HDTV. Although the Moment has a smaller display, it is an AMOLED instead of the LCD screen on the Evo. AMOLED is better at reproducing colors and consumes much less power compared to LCD screens.
The Evo is also more than a CDMA phone as it is also equipped with Wi-Max; a pre-4G technology that is being flaunted as 4G, which is why the Evo is known as a 4G phone. The Evo still uses CDMA for phone calls, just like the Moment, but Wi-Max provides much faster data transfer speeds for internet connectivity and other data needs. The Moment is much slower and it only offers speeds of up to 3x that of a dial-up line.
The camera of the Evo is also far superior to that of the Moment. It has an 8 megapixel sensor that can record HD quality video while the Moment only has a 3.2 megapixel sensor. The Evo is also equipped with two LED flashes while the Moment only has one. More LEDS mean more light when you are shooting in the dark and should also serve nicely as a flashlight. Samsung decided to leave out a front facing camera, so video calling is not possible. The Evo not only has a front facing camera, it also has a higher resolution than most at 1.3 megapixels.
Lastly, the Evo is equipped with a 1Ghz Qualcomm processor, which lends to faster response and more processing power for apps. On the other hand, the Moment is equipped with an 800Mhz processor from Samsung.
Summary:
1. The Moment has a smaller AMOLED screen than the LCD screen of the Evo
2. The Evo has an HDMI port while the Moment does not
3. The Evo is Wi-Max capable while the Moment is not
4. The Evo has a faster connection speed compared to the Moment
5. The Evo has a much better camera compared to the Moment
6. The Evo has a faster processor compared to the Moment
