Difference Between Dunks and SB
Dunks vs SB
Dunk and SB are products from Nike. Though these two types of shoes look similar in many respects, a close look at them will really reveal the difference between the two especially in the design, innersole, and outer sole.
The Dunk was the first to be introduced in the market. Nike introduced the Dunk in 1985. When reintroduced in 1985, Dunks came in numerous colors and in various sizes. The brand was reintroduced in 1998 with many changes. The Nike changed the overall look of the Dunks from a mere basic basketball shoe to something different that related to the culture, art, and fashion. It was in 1998 that Nike came up with the SB brand.
One can differentiate between Nike SB and Dunk by just looking at the shoe tongue. The logo “Nike SB” is sewed in the shoe tongue of the SB brands. But in the Dunk shoes, “Nike” is just marked in the tongue.
Now looking closely at the tongue, it can be seen that SB products have a thick tongue when compared to Nike Dunk. In shoelaces also, there is a difference between Nike SB and Nike Dunk. Nike SB mainly uses thick laces whereas the shoelaces used in Nike Dunk have the width of textile laces.
When looking at the insole, the Nike Dunk has a printed “Nike” and a swoosh logo. The insole of the Nike SB has footprint marks. In the grinding heel, one can notice the mark “Nike SB.” Unlike Nike Dunk, the Nike SB insole has two Zoom air fits. It can also be seen that the Nike SB has as many as ten grooves in the outer area.
