Difference Between Ananas and Pineapple
Pineapple are one of the most popular fruits globally. Based on the sweet nature not forgetting its nutritional benefits, this fruit is even imported in most countries. It is also used in cooking as well as baking recipes. While the terms Ananas and pineapple are sometimes used synonymously, they have differences.
Ananas
This is a plant genus native to Central America and South America of the bromeliad family. It includes the pineapple, the Ananas comosus species. The Ananas was brought by the Carib natives to the Caribbean Islands. Its origin is in Mesoamerica. It was first seen in 1493 in Guadeloupe by Christopher Columbus. It was then brought to Europe from Brazil by the Portuguese.
The species was established through commercial pineapple plantations in the Philippines, Florida, Cuba, Hawaii, Southeast Asia and the Dominican Republic.
Pineapple
This is an edible tropical fruit, a favourite for many people. Globally, it is the third most essential topical fruit. It is in the Bromeliaceae family. Among the largest producers of pineapples globally include Brazil, Costa Rica and the Philippines. The herbaceous perennial is indigenous to South America.

I still don’t understand what the difference is bwtn Anna’s and pineapple. They have not discussed taste texture, growth, nutritional value etc. They are both plants because the grow in the ground. What is the difference? How d ok you choose one over the other? Is it where it is grown that causes it’s difference?
