Difference Between Lay’s Chips and Pringles Chips
Lay’s Chips vs Pringles Chips
Potatoes are one of the world’s basic food commodities. They are prepared in many different ways, the most common of which is as mashed potatoes which is served in meals. They can also be cooked combined with meat and other ingredients. They are also popular as French fries which are served together with burgers and sodas. French fries were brought to the U.S. by President Thomas Jefferson who had tried them while living in France. They became an instant hit in the U.S. and were enjoyed by people from all walks of life.
In the mid-1800s, chef George Crum prepared French fries for guests at a restaurant, but one guest was not satisfied with how they were prepared. So the chef sliced the potatoes very thin and fried them. This led to the creation of potato chips.
Today, potato chips are the leading snack food for Americans as well as for most people the world over. There are two brands of potato chips which are very popular today, the Lay’s chips and the Pringles chips.
Lay’s chips was founded in 1932 and pioneered the snack food advertisements and commercials. They were originally made of potatoes, salt, and oil with no preservatives added. Today, they come in several different flavors which are packed in a bag. Since Lay’s chips are made solely of thinly sliced potatoes, each chip comes in different sizes and shapes which they acquire as they are cooked in oil which makes them a little bit more greasy. Each chip also cooks differently, and while some may be perfectly cooked, others may become a little overcooked and browned. Although the original flavor is still the most popular, low-fat Lay’s chips and other flavors are also available.
Pringles chips, on the other hand, are a potato snack which is made of potatoes, wheat, and other ingredients. It was first introduced to the snack food market in 1968 by Procter & Gamble. Its development came from consumer complaints about broken chips which are sold in bags so they decided to pack Pringles chips in a canister which not only kept the chips in shape but also kept them fresher for a longer period.
Each Pringles chip is exactly the same shape and size as all the others, and they are less greasy and offer a wider variety of flavors. The texture is the same since they are made by mixing all the ingredients together.
