Difference Between Motorcycle and Moped
Motorcycle vs Moped
Motorcycles and mopeds have many differences associated with their design and working. They are fundamentally different. A moped is regarded as a Motorized Pedal cycle.
Moped
A moped may be termed as a power-assisted bicycle. It is much simpler in design and performance when compared to a motorcycle. The design of a moped is a smaller build. It has smaller tires than the tires a motorcycle uses. It is lower in height and much lighter. It is a bit more compact. The engine of a moped does not exceed a capacity of 50CC.
The highest speed attained in a moped is 30 miles per hour on level surfaces. They require registration from the state motor vehicle licensing agency. The license is lifetime and does not require annual renewal.
Mopeds are designed for beginners. They have special lanes in which they should move. They are refined bicycles with small tires and small engines. They are not very stable and are tough to manage in urgent situations.
Motorcycle
A motorcycle is a much more refined product of engineering than a moped. A motorcycle is a two-wheeled vehicle which has an engine of 150CC or more. Even the smallest of motorcycles are bigger than the largest of mopeds. A high-end motorcycle may have an engine as high as 6,200 cc
Motorcycles are able to attain high speeds. The maximum speed in a motorcycle varies greatly with the size and performance. They are designed to attain much higher speeds than a moped can.
Motorcycles require stricter rules and regulations to follow. It requires a license from the state motor vehicle licensing agency with significant authorization. They require yearly renewal of the license.
Motorcycles are not for beginners. They require a great expertise to ride these great-design products. They are very heavy to handle for a beginner. A motorcycle enjoys great balance. It has wider tires and high-capacity engines. They enhance the performance of the vehicle making them much safer. They enjoy better control and balance. A motorcycle performs better in emergency situations. Motorcycles do not have any lane restrictions like a moped.
Summary:
1.Foot pegs are present in a motorcycle while foot boards are present in mopeds.
2.Motorcycles are for professionals whereas mopeds are designed for novices.
3.Motorcycles may attain very high speeds while mopeds cannot.
4.Motorcycles are heavy with large engines while mopeds are light with much smaller engines.
5.Motorcycles follow stricter licensing rules while mopeds are exempted from strict rules.
6.Motorcycles have bigger tires while mopeds have smaller tires.
7.Motorcycles have better balance while mopeds are poor at balance.
8.Motorcycles have better control while mopeds have poor control.
9.Mopeds require a onetime registration while motorcycles require annual renewal of licenses.

Most differences listed are arbitrary and vary by jurisdiction, while some are outright wrong and misleading.
There is only one property that is almost universally associated with mopeds – the existence of functional bicycle style pedals that are capable of propelling the vehicle by human power alone.
To dissect your summary point-by-point:
1.Foot pegs are present in a motorcycle while foot boards are present in mopeds.
Wrong. Foot boards are standard only on scooters and relatively common on cruisers. Mopeds typically have bicycle style rotating pedals – not foot pegs.
2.Motorcycles are for professionals whereas mopeds are designed for novices.
Ridiculously wrong. Professional couriers in many countries use scooters. Mopeds are not specifically designed for novices – they are just a cheap and convenient form of transport.
3.Motorcycles may attain very high speeds while mopeds cannot.
Generally correct. Most jurisdictions limit the maximum speed for mopeds to ~50Km/h. Everything faster is a motorcycle, so “very high speeds” is a very vague and unnecessary statement.
4.Motorcycles are heavy with large engines while mopeds are light with much smaller engines.
Correct, but vague. More clarification is necessary. Most jurisdictions limit moped engine size by displacement, not weight, and it’s usually 50cc.
5.Motorcycles follow stricter licensing rules while mopeds are exempted from strict rules.
Again, vague and misleading. Mopeds are not exempt, but licensing and registration rules are less stringent in most jurisdictions.
6.Motorcycles have bigger tires while mopeds have smaller tires.
Generally true, but not a defining characteristic in any respect. Mopeds can have “bigger” (wider and with larger diameter) tires than some motorcycles.
7.Motorcycles have better balance while mopeds are poor at balance.
?? Vague, arbitrary and ultimately meaningless statement.
8.Motorcycles have better control while mopeds have poor control.
Same as #7. No useful information here.
9.Mopeds require a onetime registration while motorcycles require annual renewal of licenses.
True in most jurisdictions I know of.
