People who are interested in Pokemon are aware of the game series that is available in the market. They know what HeartGold and SoulSilver are. But people who are not aware of this series need to know that they are a paired game and were released in 2009 in Japan.

HeartGold and SoulSilver are a paired game which means they were released together as a pair. They are a remake of the game released in 1999 called the Gold and Silver. The original games were added with many new features.
The story of the games is about the Johto and Kanto regions. The game starts from a town named New Bank Town where the players, which is you, are the new trainer.

New features
Many new features have been introduced like new characters; a new, unselected female character has been introduced. This female character keeps appearing in the game irrespective of whether she has been chosen as a player character or not. Kris has been left out from the game. Many non –Johto characters can be found in the regions too like Kyogre, Dialga and Palkia.

All the mechanics of the game have been brought up to the standard of fourth generation games. The graphics are better, images are illustrated, and HG & SS are hugely improved.
Some zones have been added to the old regions like the Safari Zone.

For a more personalized experience, the games allow you to be followed by any Pokemon of your choice.

The games have introduced Pokeathlon events which allow the player to use three Pokemons at the same time. These events can be played with others by the DS’s local wireless.

WiFi features have been introduced so that one can trade and play or battle between games like Pearl and Platinum and Diamond.

As they are a pair game, the main difference between them is the different Pokemons in the game. The Pokemons featured are only in one of the paired games and not featured in the other.
