Just curious as to why the sentence “Most Black population filled schools usually belong to this category” mattered in this article… What does that have to do with the accreditation?

I think that was the decisive sentence in the whole article.

      Natasha,

I agree, that sentence made no sense. This tells me that this article is a complete joke.

I couldn’t take this article serious after reading, “Most Black population filled schools usually belong to this category.”

The reason? Because the sentence made absolutely no sense!

Having said that, AACSB accreditation is highly overrated, since it solely focuses on the size of the college. In all actuality, ACBSP is a more practical accreditation, since it focuses on the quality of the college’s curriculum, not on how much money the college has to put towards research.

I have worked with both, including IACBE, and to me this ‘article’ is a popular summary. I would have loved to see supporting facts/sources.

I can only speak from experience, so it is highly subjective but while I have yet to find a mediocre establishment that is AACSB accredited, I have worked with ACBSP accredited schools that needed training to develop and deliver curricula… I would expect ‘accredited’ schools to be past that point. For some of them, methodology consisted of a well-furbished library where students could pick up a book to teach themselves. And this is not a joke.

My first thought is this….if the writer of this article wants to be taken seriously they should be able to furnish the correct name of the organizations they are writing about. AACSB is “Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business” and ACBSP is “Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs”. I found it much easier to compare and contrast both organizations by looking at their website.
