Mexico and New Mexico are different in the sense that the former one is a country and the latter one is a state in the United States.
Let us first discuss New Mexico. This state is located in the Western and Southwest region of the United States. A part of the Mountain states, New Mexico is the sixth largest populated state in the U.S.
New Mexico consists of the largest percentage of Hispanics which includes the descendants of Spanish settlers and Latin American immigrants. New Mexico also has the third largest percentage of Native Americans after Oklahoma and Alaska. It is the governor who is at the top of the administration in New Mexico. The New Mexico flag has red and gold colors (which represent Spain) and a Zia symbol (which represents the native American sign for the sun).
Now talking about Mexico, it borders the United States in the north Pacific Ocean. In the South and West it borders Guatemala and the Caribbean sea. It borders Belize in the Southeast and the Gulf of Mexico in the East.
Mexico comprises 31 states and a federal district which is its capital city. The country got its independence from Spain in 1810, and Priest Miguel Hidalgo was the one who declared independence. Mexico has a democratic and republican government which is based on the presidential system. The constitution of 1917 establishes three forms of government such as: the Federal union, state government, and municipal government.
When talking about Mexico’s flag, it is a vertical tri-colored flag of green, red, and white with the coat of arms in the center of the white color.
