Difference Between Sony H10 and H20
The H20 is the successor to the H10 on Sony’s Cybershot line of cameras. The differences between the two are very minor but some people think that the changes are worth it. The biggest difference between these two cameras is the sensor that is being used on each. The H10 was only equipped with an 8 megapixel sensor which is a little bit inferior to other cameras. Sony quickly addressed this by releasing the H20 with its 10 megapixel sensor. The 10 megapixel sensor allows the user to capture images with a much higher quality.
Sony has also redesigned the H20 based on the feedback of users. A lot of people found the H10 to be clumsy and a little bit difficult to use. Sony moved some of the controls around in order to fit the hand a lot better and make it easier to access the controls without thinking. Sony has also placed some rubber grips on the H20 to make it easier to hold the camera even when your hands are a little bit sweaty. Although these changes on the H20 are not really quantifiable, good design and intuitive controls have aways been a top priority of most consumers.
The last difference is in the support for an external flash. The H10 has a hot-shoe where you can connect and use an external flash in case you think that the built-in flash is insufficient. The H20 does not have this capability and you are fully dependent on the built-in flash of the H20.
Aside from the aspects that have been stated above, there are absolutely no difference in the specs of these two cameras. If you inspect their specs closely, you would find that they are the same. From the aperture, ISO settings, connectivity options, and even in the LCD size and resolution. If you are choosing between these two cameras, you should limit yourself to the differences stated above. For most people the higher sensor resolution is more than enough to convince people to get the H20 instead of the H10.
Summary:
1. The H20 is equipped with a 10 megapixel sensor while the H10 only has an 8 megapixel sensor
2. The H20 has a redesigned exterior that made it a lot easier for users to manipulate the camera compared to the H10
3. You can attach an external flash on the H10 but not on the H20

Hi Amit,
As you can see there’s not much of a difference between H10 and H20… But per my knowledge Sony has stopped the H-10 model and is promoting the H-20. If you found out the H-10.. you should not feel any bad because I have used H-10 for almost 1.5 years and have now tried the H-20. You will find few differences but both these cameras are good and you should get good results in both the cameras without much difference (*price factor aside).
