Difference Between Bearded Dragon and Fancy Bearded Dragon
In the recent past, people have diverged in reference to the preference of pets. A little over a decade ago, most people would have looked away in the mention of any species of a dragon for a pet. Thankfully, due to the tireless efforts of professional breeders and hobbyists, these amazing animals are now common in pet stores.
Most types of bearded dragons live in relatively hot, arid regions hence require a warm, dry enclosure. Water must also be offered, and the closure should offer temperature gradients whereby the dragon can move from the cool side to the hot basking side.
Different types of dragons are preferred as pets because they are low maintenance hence are easy to take care of and the unique behaviors they display in captivity, such as arm waving, head bobbing and stacking.
There are many types of dragons, some being the bearded dragon and the fancy bearded dragon.
What is a Bearded Dragon?
They are a member of a genus called Pogona which originated from Australia. They are yellow or tan in color and are called bearded due to the ability of the dragon to have a beard like skin in the throat surface mostly when it’s being territorial or feeling threatened. Its body is flat shaped, with spines on the surface of the throat, both sides of the body and also the head.
What is a Fancy Bearded Dragon?
A fancy bearded dragon is a type of bearded dragon that has various variations from the bearded dragon. For instance, a fancy bearded dragon has less scaling and smoother skin and has a color variation which tends to lean more to the red color. Their availability is, however, seasonal.
