Samsung Gravity vs Gravity 2
The Samsung Gravity 2 is the successor of the Gravity, which is a standard mobile phone that is targeted at people who uses the messaging feature a lot but do not need the added capabilities of a smart phone. They are both equipped with a slide out full QWERTY keyboard that can speed up typing compared to the traditional keypads of most phones. But considering that the Gravity 2 is a later version, it also sports a lot of improvements and tweaks to improve the overall user experience.
The most significant upgrade of the Gravity 2 is the 3G support. With 3G support, it is still quite capable of delivering fast internet speeds for most uses and even provides an email client to please even the most demanding messaging fanatic. The older Gravity only relies on 2G technologies like GPRS and EDGE which are significantly slower compared to 3G.
The look and feel of the Gravity 2 has also been improved. Though it is heavier than the Gravity, the difference is so minute that are not likely to notice the difference. The overall size of the Gravity 2 has been reduced in all dimensions, making it more handy and fit better in pockets. Despite the reduced overall size, the Gravity 2 is equipped with a 2.3 inch LCD display with a resolution of 240×320 pixels. This is a welcome improvement to the 2.1 inch and 176×220 pixel display of the Gravity. The layout and general design of the keys have also been improved to make it easier and faster to input messages on the Gravity 2.
The camera of the Gravity 2 has also been improved by Samsung, including a 2.0 megapixel sensor instead of the 1.3 megapixel sensor of its predecessor. It can now take acceptable photo quality that is clear and not blurry.
As an upgrade, the Gravity 2 fills in the shortcomings of the Gravity quite nicely and even adds a nice little feature here and there. If you like the Gravity, you are sure to love the Gravity 2 for the little tweaks if not for the major features.

IMO the Samsung Gravity 2 is 10 times better than the Samsung Gravity 1.
Personally I hate paying for ringtones. Answer to this is create or download your own, put it on a micro sd and insert into SG 2. With a SG 1 you CAN’T install your own ringtones, you HAVE TO BUY IT off your cell phone providers website or elsewhere.
Now that may not sound like much but trust me, it saves you a ton of cash.
Having 3g also helps.
I find it funny, or rather interesting that most cell phone providers sell SG 1 so they can get more money out of you, plus it probably costs them less to get the older model.
Other than that the phone is pretty similar. I’ve had this phone for over 3 years and haven’t had much of a problem. Sometimes people have a hard time hearing me, but I think it has something to do with my cell phone provider.
