Difference Between Dictatorship and Monarchy
Dictatorship vs Monarchy
Dictatorship and monarchy are different terms of governance but are almost the same in the sense that both have usurped the power of the people.
A dictatorship is an office that has been gotten through force, and a monarchy or crown is reign that is passed from one generation to another.
A dictatorship is termed as a government ruled by one person or commander who is known as the dictator. For example, Saddam Hussein was the dictator of Iraq till the U.S. forces killed him. Benito Mussolini was also a dictator who ruled Italy from 1925 to 1943.
In a dictatorship, it is the dictator who dictates the law of the country. Dictatorships are very similar to an absolute monarchy. The rule of the dictator can happen through military takeovers, through rebellions, or if an elected person refuses to step down from his office.
Monarchy is the rule of the king or queen or an emperor. A monarchy can be divided into a limited monarchy, Constitutional monarchy, and absolute monarchy. In a limited monarchy, the monarch has only ceremonial powers. Queen Elizabeth of England is an example of a limited monarchy. Though she is the queen, she does not have any word in lawmaking. In a Constitutional monarchy, the monarch has certain powers as per the Constitution. The Swedish monarch is an example of this type of monarchy. In an absolute monarchy, the monarch is supreme and has absolute authority. Saudi Arabia is an example of an absolute monarchy. Here the monarch can enforce any law he wishes.
In both a dictatorship and a monarchy, the dictators and monarchs oppress people for their own existence and gains.
“Monarch” is the Anglicized version of the Greek word meaning “alone.” A dictator was an office in Rome which was only a temporary position allowing a single person to have absolute authority in times of crisis.

The US did not kill Saddam Hussein.
#6 is an opinion of the author, not a fact.
The entire article is slanted to the writers opinion. And should not be used as a valid reference for research.
Lol, totally agree.
It’s not necessarily an opinion considering it is true for pretty much every Dictator and Monarch during their riegn. It was a little misleading because he didn’t specify Absolute Monarchy.
I do agree that this should not be used or cited in any serious research paper.
Based on this article alone, is Kim Jong Un a monarch then and not a dictator?
1: There have been plenty of monarchs throughout history that have gotten their crown through force, you have to look no further then england to see several examples. North Korea is also a good example of a dictatorship that was gotten peacefully, or at least the latest ruler got it peacefully.
2: A lot of monarchs ruled their countries the same way dictators do now, so they are no different in this respect.
3: This doesn’t explain what makes a dictator seperate to a king/queen.
4: Again, monarchs have taken power through military takeovers/rebellions. North Korea is still a good example of how rulership has been passed down through the family in a dictatorship.
5: While it might be pretty clear how most current monarchies are different to current dictatorships, it isn’t clear how absolute monarchies are different to dictatorships.
6: Monarchs have ruled successfully for many centuries, and there are several ways in how monarchies/dictatorships can be better then current democratic systems. This summary seems to be more a personal bias then anything else.
All in all, this did not provide me with any new information, and it seems to more insulting non democratic forms of government then providing an actual logical explanation on how monarchies and dictatorships are different.
He’s an absolute monarch, because he is the dictator, after all, and the singular ruler (or “monarch”) of North Korea. But given that he’s also worshiped as some god among men, North Korea is actually a theocracy.
He is. A dictatorship can turn into a monarchy, which is the case for North Korea.
In response to some comments: If a “dictator” gained control over an area through force but then passed on rulership to his children when he died do they become monarchs? Because this is the case with nearly all we call “monarchs” today!
Well but those this post take into account “elective monarchies” were the crown wouldn’t necessarily pass from father to son… but from king to elector
Monarches, presidents, dictators are dressed up clowns – shrimps, pieces of smelly Jewish shit. Ancient ones are invented. It’s an attempt to convince modern generation that today’s crypto-Jewish brothel has thousand-year roots. Take into consideration Jewish meanness.
Real organizers are always hidden. Otherwise they would be killed. Instantly – in no time.
Jews have been extended maximum for a hundred last years. Languages are Jewish, artificial It’s the tool of a deception, programming. To read, write, speak to look video production harmfully. You become operated.
Mind, that you are surrounded by dirty crypto-Jews. To stay in the Jewish environment harmfully. You become an idiot.
There is no other way as to kill Jews always and everywhere successively.
You are a moron and a wanna be Arian. Get over yourself. And if you are of Norse decent? Realize how stupid your comment is and grow up.

Many (but not the majority of) kings and emperors in the past were able and benevolent to their respective peoples.
The Chinese emperors Han Wen Ti, Tang Tai Jong, Kublai Khan, and Kang Xi were among them, as well as a number of Ksatriyas (such as Ashoka of India), Rajs, and Sultans in South and Southeast Asia. Cyrus the Great might be the most famous for Persia but I do not know much about the Middle East. The Occidental examples were plenty also.
It very easy to understand the situation and important
