An anklet is worn around the ankles while bracelets are worn on the arm. Indian women from time immemorial wore anklets; it has become fashionable around the world only since the 20th century. There are several ways for an anklet to be worn; it can either be worn around a single ankle or around both ankles. Generally anklets are worn around both ankles.

On point number 4, I have a used a bracelet as an anklet more than once. Mine didn’t have charms on it though.
