Difference Between AML and ALL
Leukemia is one of the diseases that are common in the world. Â It affects people of all ages, from the babies up to the oldest persons in the planet. Â AML is known as acute myeloid leukemia, also called as acute myelogenous leukemia, and is considered as the cancer of the myeloid line of the blood cells. Â ALL, on the other hand, is known formally as acute lymphoblastic leukemia that is often characterized by the excess of lymphoblast in the white blood cells. Â To define leukemia as a whole, it is typically that cancer of the blood that develops in the bone marrow of the human system. Â The AML is a type of disease that has increased granulocytes, which are created in the bone marrow. Â With the AML, the body will take too much of the cell and make them develop immaturely. Â The ALL, meanwhile, produces too much lymphocyte, that will again develop prematurely in the bone marrow. Â The ALL is most commonly found in children while the AML is found in adults.
The causes for the disease also differ between the types of leukemia.  For one thing, the Acute Myeloid Leukemia is often associated to be caused by �preleukemic� blood disorders such as myelodysplastic syndrome or myeloproliferative disease.  There are also indications that some patients of the disease have acquired it due to their exposure to anti-cancer treatments like chemotherapy and radiotherapy.  The symptoms and signs of the diseases have been noted to increase in later years after the initial exposure.  It is also indicated in some studies that the risk of getting the AML is higher when both treatments are being conducted.  On the other hand, the Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia is created after a prolonged exposure to radiation and other chemicals that are used for animals and humans.  There are some experts who contradict this notion of exposure as there are some people who have been exposed who developed AML rather than ALL.
The malignant cell in the acute myeloid leukemia is the myeloblast.  This is because the cell generally accumulates genetic changes that remain the same or in a �freeze� mode in its immature state.  When mixed with other cell mutations and gene disruptions, it results to the AML condition that debilitates the body.  On the part of the acute lymphoblastic leukemia, the damaged cells are the white blood cells that are immature and are reproduced voluminously.  They would often crowd out the normal cells and prevent the normal development of the other cells.

1. AML is known as acute myeloid leukemia while ALL is called acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
2. AML attacks the myeloblast cells, making it develop immaturely, while the ALL attacks the white blood cells.
3. Acute lymphoblastic leukemia is found mostly on children while the acute myeloid leukemia is found mostly on adults.
4. AML attacks people who have been exposed to anti-cancer treatments and pre-existing blood conditions while ALL mostly acts on those people that have been exposed to radiation.
