Miniature goats are specific breeds which are smaller than other goats. Like other goats, these small goats are considered to be curious, intelligent and also good companions. Dwarf and pigmy goats come under the miniature type of goats.

Though the dwarf goats and pigmy goats are similar in their origin, they have differences in many things.

The pigmy goats are heavy boned and are “cobby”. On the other hand, dwarf goats are almost similar to the dairy goats.

The Pigmy goats have their origin in Africa. They are very agile, small and stocky. In comparison to the dwarf goats, the pigmy goats produce less milk. Unlike the dwarf goats, the pigmy goats are good companions. Moreover, the pigmy goats are raised more for their meat.

When comparing the height, the dwarf goats and pigmy goats have almost the same height. They have also similar personalities and raised almost in the same ways.

When comparing the body features, the pigmy goats and the dwarf goats have many differences. The pigmy goats have dished faces (curved when looking from the side). These goats have short wide muzzles, short stocky legs and short muscled necks. When seen from the side, they have large bodies that tend to become heavier from the front legs to the rear.

In contrast to the pigmy goats, the dwarf goats have long slender necks and longer bodies. These goats have thin bodies and slender legs. Unlike the pigmy goats, the dwarf goats have balanced udders.
