Islam and Catholicism share many similarities. Islam is one of the religions practiced by many around the word, as it is one of the second largest religions in the world. Catholicism is the largest prominent religion, with followers across the globe. According to a report from the Vatican, released in 2008, 19 percent of the world’s population is made up of Islam, while Catholics make up only 17.4 percent of world’s population.
The origin of Islam can be traced back to the six hundred Christian era, and was founded by Prophet Muhammad, in Mecca. According to the historians, Prophet Muhammad received the revelations from angel Jibril (Gabriel). After which he complied the revelations into the holy book ‘“ Quran. People from Islam religions follow the teachings of the Prophet, and accept Allah as God.
Islam has a few fundamental beliefs that make the founding ground of Islamic faith. They are:
· According to them, Allah is the only God, and he is invisible to our human eyes.
· God is the only Supreme Being.
· Belief in divine scriptures and revelations like Psalm, the Bible, and Torah.
· Islam believes the existence of angels to be their guardian. This is because Quran is a compilation of an angel’s revelations.
· Belief in final judgment day; everyone will be gauged based on their deeds.
Catholicism is one of the wealthiest and largest sections in Christianity. Catholicism and Islam are siblings with jealousy. Both religions have roots in Judaism, and have the longest recorded history, filled with conflicts between the two famous religious beliefs. Catholicism is an extension of Judaism, along with Jesus Christ. They also have a strong belief in church and Pope as the highest order of their religion. Islam is an extension of Judaism, with Jesus Christ and The Prophet Muhammad as messengers of God. Catholicism believe that Jesus is a messenger of God, as well as God himself. In addition, they consider that only Jesus can save them from all sins, as he gave his life for his people on the cross.
Catholicism and Islam share many common platforms, like:
· Catholic and Islam have similar practices in prayer, fasting and alms deeds.
· Both have prayer beads.
· Pilgrimages to receive blessings from God.
· Both have Holy Scriptures originated from the same roots.
Summary:
· God: Islam praises Allah as the only God. Catholicism praises Jesus, a messiah of God himself, and son of God.
· Catholicism believes Church and Pope to be the highest order.
· Quran is compilations made by the Prophet himself; the Bible was compiled by his disciples based on Jesus’ teachings.

I am Catholic but i have a open mind about all religions.I dont think its good to be bad mouthing what people believe in,we should respect all Religions,but one thing for sure ,we will soon find out when we die.

And I, as a Muslim, do not see Jesus, Moses and Muhammad as God’s messengers to invite people to monotheism and ask for help from the one God, flaw in my religion, either in terms of reason, logic or history.

the real difference is islam & Christian are Heavenly religions From our God – Allah –
But Islam is the last religion that Allah revealed to human kind ,, and Christian religion gospel was misrepresentation ,, but the Holy Koran is still preserved and will up to the day of Resurrection – End of world –

If you say that you only recognize Judaism, and Christianism, and Islam went because it failed, it means that Allah fails often.

I mean no disrespect here, but I believe that Catholicism is the true faith. Jesus fulfilled all of the prophecies of the Old Testament. He is the Messiah that the Jews were waiting for. Some of the Jews believed Him, becoming the first Christians while the others did not.
The Catholics do not believe in 3 gods, but that Jesus and the Holy Spirit are part of the whole God. We believe God is the only one and the same one for all people. In Isaiah 43:10-11 it says – “….Before me no god was formed, and after me there shall be none. It is I the Lord; there is no savior but me.” In the Catholic faith because of the New Testament writings we know that Jesus Christ is the one and only savior, thus making Him equal to God, and thus also making Him God.
We believe that Jesus is the ‘Word of God’ made flesh. In the Old Testament in Isaiah 55:11 it says – ….. ‘so shall my word be that goes forth from my mouth; it shall not return to me void, but shall do my will, achieving the end for which I sent it.’
In the New Testament in John 1:1-5 it says – In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things came to be through him, and without him nothing came to be. What came to be through him was life, and this life was the light of the human race; the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
John 1:14 – And the Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us, and we saw his glory, the glory as of the Father’s only Son, full of grace and truth. In Hebrews 1:1-4 it says – In times past, God spoke in partial and various ways to our ancestors through the prophets; in these last days, he spoke to us through a son, whom he made heir of all things and through whom he created the universe, who is the refulgence of his glory, the very imprint of his being, and who sustains all things by his mighty word. When he had accomplished purification from sins, he took his seat at the right hand of the Majesty on high, as far superior to the angels as the name he has inherited is more excellent than theirs.
Isaiah 30:20-21 says – The Lord will give you the bread you need and the water for which you thirst. No longer will your Teacher hide himself, but with your own eyes you shall see your Teacher. While from behind, a voice shall sound in your ears: “This is the way, walk in it,…..”
Jesus is the Way, and the Truth and the Life.
In the Old Testament God told Moses to tell his people that ‘I AM’ sent you.
John 8:57-58 says – Then the Jews said to Him, Thou are not yet 50 years old, and you have seen Abraham? Jesus said unto them, “Amen, amen, I say to you, before Abraham came to be, I AM.”
In John 1:30 John the Baptist says – He is the one of whom I said, ‘A man is coming after me who ranks ahead of me because he existed before me.’ John the Baptist of course is the last prophet anouncing to the people that the Messiah is coming. And that Messiah is Jesus. John the Baptist is proclaiming that Jesus is God because He existed before all people. John the Baptist was actually born before Jesus was born so he was not talking about the birth of Jesus to the Virgin Mary.
I read something one time that said that Islam could not be a true religion because the faith believes that Jesus is not God, yet over and over in the bible Jesus made claims to be the one and only God.
So what I read states that, again I mean no disrespect, but it states that the Islamic faith is committing blasphemy against their god. It says this because the Islamic faith believes in only one God, but also believes that Jesus was a great prophet. Now if they believe that Jesus is a great prophet then wouldn’t it only be logical that they accept His teachings? Jesus said many times to His followers that He is God. Some believed Him, others wanted to stone Him for blasphemy. If Jesus was a great prophet, then He could not also be a liar. He could have been insane, but then He would not be a great prophet but, instead, someone who does not make any sense. If Jesus is committing blasphemy against God for claiming to be God, then wouldn’t anyone accepting the Islamic faith be committing blasphemy for accepting Jesus?
Jesus did fulfill all of the Old Testament prophecies. God did walk with us. He created everything out of nothing, He allowed a man to live inside of a whale for 3 days and nights, He allowed a man to talk to Him in the form of a burning bush, He allowed a Virgin Birth, He spoke through prophets. Yet some still cannot accept that this same God can walk among us, can make Himself human if He so wishes, can make blind people see again, can raise dead people to life, can walk on water, can calm a storm, can feed 5000 people with only 5 loaves of bread and 2 fish, can have so much LOVE for us that He would allow Himself to be crucified on a tree for all of our sins. In the Old Testament Abraham even talked to God in a human form. It is in scripture. There is nothing that the Catholic God is incapable of doing. And if there is, then He is not God.
He came to fulfill the prophecies. He came to teach us to love one another and to forgive each other. He came to teach us that He will give us many chances to repent and to follow Him until the time of Judgement. He came to teach us that we are all equal and all of us deserving of salvation if we follow Him. He came to rise from the dead to show us that we too will have the opportunity to live again in Heaven if we believe in Him and do good works. We Catholics believe in Jesus as God and Savior. We Catholics believe in the WORD of GOD.
May the Lord guide us all to the truth. Amen.

The Christianity has nothing in common with Islam, because Islam is not a religion but a politicized cult. The god of Islam is not our God, the Yahweh of the Old testament. Mohamed is not a profet and the archangel Gabriel did not revealed anything to him.
Archangel Gabriel is the messenger of the Annunciation and he could not bring another ‘gospel’ much contrary to the Gospel brought by Jesus Christ. Jesus warned us about false ‘christs’.

If a Catholic prays with a Muslim he prays with infidels and enemy of the Cross. If he prays for a Muslim and his conversion-healing, it is a different matter.

Muslims and catholics believe in god the almighty, which is good. I have this to say, if god almighty and so powerful will definitely not confuse the people he love.just to ask a few questions.
1) Is God forgetful ?
2) Did god make a mistake?

God want to test us. Why would Jesus claim he is god while he been sent by god? Isn’t that confusing?.
I’m not a Muslim but I believe God really sent Muhammad to inform us or perhaps to test us about His existence. We never knew wether its Islam or Christianity will go to Heaven. What if we stick to our belif and the Judgement day come and god speak to us that Both Religion are accept to enter Heaven? What if God is not Human like or Even sent Jesus to lead us to follow God himself?

Just read what the Byzantine Emperor Manuel 2 Paleologus wrote about Islam. The Pope Benedict XVI quoted him at his speech in Regensburg, Germany on September 12, 2006:

The emperor must have known that surah 2, 256 reads: “There is no compulsion in religion”. The Qur’an is not a “compilation” of information made by the Prophet himself. God revealed these verses (not in chronological order) to Prophet Muhammad throughout his lifetime, and each revelation was relevant to what was going on in his life at the time. If you read the Qur’an, you can tell that it was not “written” by the Prophet or any human for that matter. The Prophet is referred to in the third person, and he is not the only Prophet mentioned in the Qur’an. He could not have written this book himself. The only knowledge he had was that which was given to him by God. Even modern scientists are discovering “miracles” and “mysteries” in the Qur’an that no one could have known at the time of the Prophet and supporting the claim that no man could have written words so perfect and eloquent and have known the things revealed in the Qur’an. People have tried to infiltrate the religion and the Qur’an, but it remains unadulterated to this day in its pure Arabic text, and many Muslims have memorized it in its entirety.

All the prophets had the same believes and they demanded their followers to have the same believes “God exists without a place and there is no God but Allah..” People should know that muslims LOVE Jesus because he’s muslim himself.. We love all the prophets and messengers because they all carry the same message and believes.. Islam is the only religion that actually makes sense and is proven to be the right one.

Why are Muslims right when it comes to religion? If you really think through the whole thing, you’ll know that Muslims’ thoughts and beliefs are totally matching with the mind. Like the case of God’s existence. He existed before creating place (earth, sky, space, etc..) so he is not in need of these places. After he created them he is still not in need of them because he is God. So, We know from all this that God exists without a place. That is just an example. Any case you can think of has an explanation with Muslims. Again, we LOVE prophet Jesus. 🙂

Thanks for your message. When Adam and Eve were sent to this earth from heaven, there was an urgent need where and how to populate them. Than God has created all this universe in 6 days. This include all sorts of Lands, Mountain, rivers, ocean, various kinds of birds and animals, Gardens etc. etc. only for the comfort of we human being.
So the needs was for us humans and not for the God. We should thank him who has given us all these resources for our comfort.
We love prophet Jesus too and also believe on God’s book Bible revealed on Him.

why can’t we all just get along? why can’t we all just respect each others opinions and thought about our beliefs? I mean even if someone says they believe that Islam or Christianity are the real religion in their opinion we could respect their point but also could tell them the way we feel about and and what we actually think is right? i just don’t get why people get into shitty arguments because of religions… it’s just a big waste of time and such a shame… In the end most of the religions we have lead to God and I truly believe that he didn’t create us to argue because of this.

Catholic faith is faith of truth. Jesus established Chruch in gospels, and islam is not church, and don’t have forgivness of sins through his disciples, what Jesus ordered to his disciples. Jesus died, reusrrected, established euharistic, taken the sin of the world – non of that claims islam, which is false religion, they only claim to follow bible, but they don’t. Islam is antichrist religion, because biblical definition of antichrist is: one who neglects Father and Son.

Bible is one of the books which was revealed on Jesus which we Muslim too believe. However, as the time passed away, every tom, dick and harry made changes in Bible to his comfort. You may very well see many various types of Bible available with mass changes made by human being. Therefore, its creditability was compromised.
Therefore, God has revealed our Quran [holy book] on our prophet Muhammad [PBUH). This books is a Final book revealed on the human being and God himself challenged that no one can create similar to this book. God has said no one can even made the smallest AYET (instructions). Today 1400 years have passed to challenge but not a single person of the world including genius ones could not copy it. This is enough evidence of its truthfulness to be believed and followed by Muslim the world over.
As pointed out by brother AbdulHakim, this book of Quran has been memorized by millions of people including small children which is another proof that no changes made or shall be made.
Mary [Mariam] was virgin when she gave birth to Jesus. To prove this, God has gave the capability to the small child [Jesus] to speak by himself to the people of his town that he will be prophet and has no father. A small child able to speak by himself stunned people as this was enable by God who has power to do so. Therefore, there was no relation of Father and Son as evidenced by Jesus himself.

This comment, nor the other comments in this post demonstrate how each of your religions are neither peaceful nor truthful. Why God would be fierce, force people into hell, or promote belittling of other faiths as untrue, or belittling of others because of faith, is not at all logical when God is supposed to be Love! You people are ignorant if you think that this type of faith will lead you to Heaven. Christian, Islam, or whatever, everyone has a responsibility to be a good person. I just want to say, as a Muslim women speaking, as human beings we should not be making fun of and talking bad about other religions because isn’t that a sin you are making? You guys call yourselves good and devoted Christian’s, Catholics or Jews but most of you are bashing or judging other religions to make yours look better, when you barely even know anything about the other religion and are committing sins when doing that smh, that is so sad lol. And to set the record straight, Islam is a religion of peace and it is mentioned many times in the holy Quran, and was brought to us FROM prophet Muhammad MPBUH and in the Quran and bible, Jesus MPBUH mentioned how when he is gone, another person will bring another form of faith to this world and it will change many people’s point of view or faith, and that person he was talking about was prophet Muhammad MPBUH because Jesus knew he was going to come to this world after him. And if you think about it, why would God send a man to earth to become God himself? That doesn’t make any sense, God made humans, which means he is not a human and cannot be compared to a humans form. God is God, which is Allah SWT and he made humans, and prophets and angels to send messages to earth and spread the faith of Islam to others, which is NOW one of the most popular religion in the world and is growing everyday. Christian’s and Catholics are converting to Islam every second, because The Islamic religion just makes more sense to people and does not represent anything negative, but peace. Please get your facts straight the next time you start bashing on another religion or you will look retarded lol. Thank you.

I consider, it is my idea, that the concept of a Week is adaptible and used by super intelligent (Intelligent?) beings to lead the lowly human (relatively to super beings or Beings). By God, or g/od telling Man to take a break each seventh day, to rest, he instilled a very high technology- repeating a pattern regularly, of 5-6 days of work, and one off. It affects the neuroplasticity of the human brain just right, so that if we were dumber, we would have a 5 or 6 day week, and if smarter, a 8 or greater day week.
This takes the place of the older repeated unit- the Month and the Seasona and of course, the Year.
High technology by someone saying… Do nothing each seventh day. Rest.
That IS high technology!
If I were to try to destroy it, I would create a plant that utterly reverses this weekly concept, so that one becomes utterly happy doing nothing every day. A drug where one is happy to eat and watch passively. A drug one can worship more easily than working or being regularly busy. An apparently harmless drug.

It is interesting to read everyone’s thoughts. This is what I have read and what I think and I am not that well read on this subject but here goes. I believe in GOD, Jesus and the holy spirit. I have been Methodist and then Baptist and I am still confused about them being separate but yet the same. Especially when Jesus is holding GOD’s hand in the Bible and they are face to face too. But anyway I guess I understand them being pieces of GOD which is GOD. Moving on it seems that from what I have read all religions are man made. GOD did not write or use man to right any of these religions. Also only one man in each religion has seem to seen GOD and started the religion never a group of people. By the way Jesus DID NOT found the Catholic religion. He was born Jewish, raised Jewish and died Jewish. He wanted to change some of the rules of the Jewish but never said that he was against the Jewish religion as a whole. He said that he was going to build a church but did not say it would not be a Jewish church. I believe Paul started the church with Jesus’s beliefs but Jesus did not and did not say he wanted a church in his name at any time that I have heard or read. Going on, why did one person see GOD not a group of people and we believed them and followed them? Now a days we would call them crazy even though there there have been times we still believe them such as Ron Hubbard with scientology. With the Bible I believe in it and things written in it are true as events go but lets look it over. These things were written by man not GOD or by GOD and there were several stories written and then the church chose the stories they liked the best to put in the Bible or not to put in the Bible. The stories of Mary Jesus’s mother are not in the Bible why? Maybe so that the attention is not taken away from Jesus who knows? From there when people say that this word or that word means this or that and is very, very important to know which it is drives me crazy. This is because there were several stories and the church happened to choose that one. GOD did not write it and put it in the Bible or written by GOD’s hand the church chose it! Take it as it is meant by who wrote it not by GOD. I see the Bible as the best thing on earth as a history book and we need to learn from it as we do but don’t drive your self crazy over some of the meanings because GOD DID NOT WRITE IT OR WRITE IT BY SOME ONE ELSES HAND. THE STORY WAS CHOSEN BY THE CHURCH. It is the one of the greatest books in the world!
NOW Islam another religion started by one person again. This is another great religion too. But it too was started by one person so why did we choose to follow him? What made us believe his religion with no one else with him to see GOD. Plus he was not able to read or write as most people could not do back then. So everyone remembered his stories about GOD and the rules. As he traveled from place to place his followers remembered his stories as they should. But why did no one write the stories down? Now the Islam religion is very proud that their Quran has never been changed which they should be proud of that being true. But, they did not write the Quran down until 20 years after his death! Why? After 20 years they started to go around to all of the towns and communities and listened to all of the stories and rules everyone remembered and what ever seemed to be a fact they wrote down for the Quran. Why did they not write down his teachings when he was alive? When he was alive they could ask him questions, make sure of the stories and the rules but after 20 years I don’t think the Quran could be a perfect as it could be as if it was written when he was alive. So yes it has never been changed but is it as true as it could have been with him over seening the writing? I think it could have been a little be better plus with all of the mis-understandings he could have cleared them up and maybe not have the problems we have with both religions. We should except each other and live with each other peaceful and not harm each other. Discuss each religion don’t hate each other’s religion as I read above. Shame on all of you we are different and we always be different. We are different within our own kind within our own religion. We are all the same human but we have are differences some have blue eyes some brown some even black eyes who cares? We are different in many ways life with it embrace it. Variety is great the same is so boring, learn different things from each other. Foods, life, you get the point. I think we are all right. You need the right that is right for you and let the others live with their right. We CAN LIVE TOGETHER PEACEFULLY. Don’t let religion or differences hurt us or tear us apart. JUST DON’T DO IT. Any way these are my thoughts, readings and understandings. I can still like you if you disagree with me and we can still live together with each other and we can play together nicely. This is not correct. When the Quran was being nuzool-ed [given from God] on Holy Prophet (PBUH), used to ask his companions to write it down, and it has always been in the written form.
When the entire Quran was completed [in about 23 years] on Holy Prophet [PBUH], even the sequence had been finalized in the days of Prophet (PBUH). It was side by side learnt by heart by thousands and thousand of Muslims which is another fact of its accurateness.
It was only many years after his death, that it was compiled into “book form”. This does not mean it was not “written” before that.

You can say the same exact thing about Islam. Muhammed was a warlord and polygamist who made “observations” about things that happened over 600 years before his time. He may have beem possesed by a demon as it a well known fact he sufferred from violent convulsions before his “visions.” Look at the unrest and daily violence and inhumane acts in Sharia and Muslim countries and tell me which more resembles evil. In defense of Catholicism, all historical context and references can be traced directly to Jesus and his words and followers. I can say God or Allah talked to me with no evidence and begin my own religion and conquer villages, that requires no goodness nor grace; worshipping a rock and perpetuating violence seems very evil to me.
The big mistake of non catholic religions are they relate God using arithmetic numbers. Yes in catholic God has three personifications: The father, the son and the holy spirit one God infinite it cannot be refferred as three Gods. It means that one God is equal to the creator (God the father) the redeemer(Jesus Christ) and the relation (holy spirit). Question: If most of all believes that there is no holy trinity, there is only one God the father.. How can you tell that God is a father without a Son.? Basically God the father and Jesus already existed because both referred as one God.

I’m Catholic and I believe both religions are good. The only difference from my perspective is that Catholics/Christians believe more and do things more like the New Testament and Muslims the Old Testament. Just my opinion

you people do realize that there is still the slightest possibility that neither of these religions are actually true right? there are thousand of religions out there and just because these are the most known ones doesn’t change the fact that they are only two in thousands that are out there. I’m not an atheist but i believe that there is a possibility of anything happening, i do not base myself off of one religion, i believe that there may be a God but i don’t believe in the bible nor the church or anything religious. It is a absurd to try and prove each other wrong when truly non of you will every truly be right, it is not ur place to tell muslims that they are wrong and vice versa, because you will never know whether or not you are right until the day you die stop attacking each other when u don’t even know for sure if ur right or not. I was raised in a catholic household but my parents were never really religious, so they allowed me to chose my own path. i always had my doubts but i never thought much of it, until i found out that i was basically lied to my whole life, adam and eve never existed, instead, they were used as metaphors in the bible to try and help people understand that “God created everything” but truly human kind comes from evolution and NOT adam and eve, in fact, since there is so many scientific facts towards this the christian church had to accept that. I thought to myself, if the first ever story in the bible is a lie then how many more are there? i believe the bible is made up of metaphors not real stories. This isn’t for you to stop believing in religion or try and prove you wrong but it’s to open your eyes to the possibility of anything, God gave us free will in order to believe in whatever we want to believe in, if he is so “almighty” why didn’t he just make us believe in christianity or islamic? you can’t prove something wrong if you are not 100% sure of it so all of you people need to get your head out of your ass and stop acting like you know everything cuz you don’t.

I’m a devout Catholic that Loves all of Gods children. All of mankind.
I was raised by my devout Mother and she put me on the path I follow.
She always told my two sisters and myself we were no better or less then anyone else , that all are Gods children.
I know as my path I followed was because of my Mother that a Muslim child followed the devout faith of his family. Both faiths believe that we will be judged by the morals we live by,

Muslims I have met in my life were very loving and caring individuals as are Christians .
There is evil among us all.
