Difference Between Courier and Regular Mail
Courier vs Regular Mail
Courier and regular mail are different postal services. The two are different in their services and operations.
In earlier days, people depended mainly on regular mail for sending and receiving letters and packages. But today, couriers have changed the concept of sending and receiving letters and packages. With the advent of couriers, the monopoly of the regular mail has been shattered.
The regular mail is good for sending letters, but when it comes to sending packages, it is a cumbersome process. You should have to queue up in the post office for a long time and undergo many formalities before a package is delivered. But when sending packages through a courier, it is quite easy. There is no need to stand in queue for long hours and no complications involved. With just a phone call, the courier will be at the doorstep to collect the package.
Now talking about the price, the regular mail comes with a fixed price for sending letters and packages. On the other hand, there is no constant price when sending letters and packages through a courier service. Different courier companies have different prices. An advantage is that you have the choice to look for the low-priced service. It can also be seen that the couriers charge more than the regular mail.
When talking of service, you can expect a better service from the courier companies. This is because each of the courier companies strive to give the best service as they want more business. But in the case of regular mail, there is no competition, and it is as much a part of the government.
When sending letters or packages, the mailing address in regular mail comes with a post box number or pin codes. But with couriers, there is no such post box number or pin code in mailing addresses.
